The University of Calgary in Qatar (UCQ)’s mission for continuing professional development (CPD) is to provide high-quality educational opportunities in the health care field in the State of Qatar, thereby enhancing professional growth and personal enrichment of health care practitioners, and strengthening the health care community, health care practices, and our university.
CPD programs include a range of topics relevant to the needs of the health care professionals.
CPD programs are provided for all health care professionals in the State of Qatar, with a particular emphasis on nurse professionals.
TYPES OF ACTIVITIES
CPD programs are delivered using sound educational adult learning theory, multiple teaching and learning strategies, including for example, lectures, seminars, distinguished speaker series, workshops, courses, and conferences.
CPD programs are expected to impact participants by enhancing their knowledge, skills, and attitudes with respect to clinical practice, professional performance and patient outcomes. The capacity of health care providers to provide world class health care based on current best practices will be increased. Results are linked to the domains of competence as defined by the Qatar Council of Healthcare Practitioners (QCHP).
Please find below the calendar of CPD programs being offered by the University of Calgary in Qatar.
CPD programs on this calendar are subject to QCHP approval and are therefore tentative.
Once QCHP approved, further details of each CPD program and the registration process will be announced at least two weeks in advance of the CPD program date. Any questions, please contact Kathleen de Leon-Demare, CPD Coordinator at the University of Calgary in Qatar, or by phone, 4406 5242.
